Christmas and new year celebrations in Jaisalmer are the most exciting and thrilling festivals celebrated with lot of fun in Jaisalmer and many other parts of Rajasthan.It's again the Christmas time and New Year that we all have been waiting for the past 12 months. Morning chills, misty days, trampled leaves, all bring back the memories of the last year festivities when the family united with its dear ones, exchanging of the gifts took place, new resolutions were made, new hopes and aspirations fill every ones heart with happiness. Almost every country is in a festive mood with Christmas and New Year just round the corner. Huge celebration takes place in every section of the city. However there is something that sets the celebrations in Jaisalmer apart from all of them. Christmas is a holy festival and has large religious sentiments attached with it. Keeping this in mind, celebrations that take place in Jaisalmer maintain all the sanctity of the occasion mixed with heart pumping pomp and show. And one state that runs away with the crown for the best celebrations, is the part of Rajasthan. Be it Christmas or New Year, every soul in Goa enjoys heart out. One needs to be in the middle of it all to get the experience of the gala.

Food & Drinks

1.Food and beverages are available at the festival.

2.There will be at least one 24 hour café and food trucks as well as stall owners are allowed to serve food and beverages through the night on site for festival residents in Jaisalmer Tents.

3.Outside food and beverages are not permitted within the festival premises.

4.Alcohol will not be served to people under legal drinking age.

How to get there?

This year’s venue is the beautiful Lakhmana Dunes where we will be hosted by Desert Dream Royal Camp. About a 40-minute drive from Jaisalmer town the venue is on the same route to Sam Sand Dunes.
FLY: You can fly to Jaisalmer now directly from Delhi or Jaipur. There’s no direct flight from any other city. Jodhpur is the closes airport other than Jaisalmer so alternately you could fly to Jodhpur and either cab it from there or there’s plenty of public transport.
ROAD OR RAIL: However, if you choose to drive, the roads are beautiful all the way to the festival in the dusty Royal Desert Camp in Jaisalmer. Trains are frequent from Calcutta to Uttarakhand as well as the south of India.

Things to remember

1.Carry really warm clothes for the night and summery clothes for the day in Golden Camp in Jaisalmer.
2.Don’t forget any medication you may be on. In case you have any medical issues that we must be made aware of please contact us in advance on so that we can ensure we have you covered in case there is something to worry about.
3.In case you’re travelling with children please carry all baby foods, medicines with you as well as warm clothes for the baby. Jaisalmer is an hours drive from the festival and is generally equipped with whatever you may need in Luxury Tent in Jaisalmer.
4.However sometimes specific things might not be available.
